Branding, Teams and Passwords. Oh My!

by Mathew Sobkowicz | May 30, 2018

We’re very excited to announce some highly requested features we’ve added to MASV this month.

So, without further ado…

Custom Branding

My personal favourite of this release. You can now set a custom background, logo, and primary colour for each team. This means all delivery emails sent or received via MASV, along with the actual application interface, will be branded to your company’s look and feel.

Many of you are entrepreneurs running your own post-production houses and want to promote your brand. It used to be that your company’s name appeared on tapes or drives sent in the mail, and we’ve now made the same thing possible through our digital delivery service.

Our ultimate goal is to drastically improve your delivery workflow, including professionally representing your brand, through MASV. We believe your users will trust digital deliveries more if they’re branded with the logo or name of the company they’re in business with.

While MASV Portals were always brand-able, this update allows full branding whether sending or receiving files using MASV. We also gave the MASV user interface an overhaul to support some of our new features and improve the overall design. Let us know how you like it on Twitter!

Based on Slack’s multi-user approach, you can now invite all your employees, freelancers and even family members to join your MASV team. This will help improve security by keeping all your users under one account, unifying your bill (each team has one billing profile) and better managing user permissions.

Teams have the following roles:

Owner -> The person who creates and owns the team can do anything and everything possible with MASV. Only the owner can change billing information.

Administrator -> Admins have access to everything the owner does, with the exception of billing information.

Members -> Members can only send files through MASV Rush or receive files through MASV Portals. They can’t change configuration settings, create portals or invite other team members. They only have visibility into what they’ve personally sent or received through your team. This is perfect for regular employees who need access, and nothing more.

Each user’s team activities are billed to the account owner.

Password Protected Transfers

This one was a clear gap in our product that had been on our to-do list since, basically, forever. You can now set a password to safeguard your data and ensure deliveries stay secure, while also protecting against email hacks or users forwarding their links.

This feature has been added to the details card of the upload process. You set the password, the email goes out, then — preferably via a method other than email — you send the intended recipient the password. The user will then be asked to enter the password before they can view or download any files. You can always reset the password from your history section (in case you forget yours like I always do).

That’s a lot of new stuff for one release. But we’re not done yet: our next will be our biggest to date, including — but not limited to — the following features:

  • API -> Yesssss!
  • Extendable expiries
  • Pause, Resume, Recover transfers
  • Estimated times for both incoming and outgoing transfers
  • And much, much more…

If you’re new to MASV, please head over to our website and start your free 7-day trial. There’s no credit card required and you get up to 100 GB of transfer data to play with.

As always, please reach out to us via the chat widget or at [email protected] if you have any feedback, ideas, recommendations or just want to chat.
