Newest ISO standard addresses modern threats related to cloud and software-as-a-service (SaaS) products

OTTAWA, ONTARIOJan. 20, 2026 – MASV (massive.io), the leader in fast and relentlessly reliable large file transfers, is proud to announce it has officially obtained the ISO 27001:2022 information security certification. It’s an upgrade from the ISO 27001:2013 certification MASV has held for several years.

ISO 27001:2022 modernizes the previous 2013 standard by refining its Annex A controls into 93 streamlined rules designed to address contemporary threats associated with cloud and SaaS services. These updated requirements include controls for cloud services, threat intelligence, configuration management, secure coding, information deletion, and monitoring.

In addition to its ISO certification, MASV maintains SOC 2 Type II compliance and adheres to GDPR guidelines. The company is also a Gold Shield member of the Motion Picture Association (MPA)’s Trusted Partner Network (TPN), which involves a stringent security assessment for the media and entertainment (M&E) industry, incorporating many of the same requirements as ISO 27001:2022.

“What this means for users is that MASV is secure by design. Everything required by ISO 27001:2022 was already part of our operations due to the similar controls required for TPN Gold status,” explains MASV CTO Majed Alhajry. “While the M&E sector remains a key market for us, this new certification signals our commitment to addressing security needs across the broader industry.”

This well-known, internationally-recognized security standard requires that MASV:

  • Establish and maintain an information security management system (ISMS): Define scope, policies, roles, risk assessment methodology, and objectives to systematically manage information security.

  • Identify, assess, and treat information security risks: Regularly evaluate risks to information assets and implement appropriate controls to mitigate them to acceptable levels.

  • Monitor, review, and continually improve information security: Conduct internal audits, management reviews, incident responses, and corrective actions to ensure ongoing effectiveness and improvement of the ISMS.

The ISO 27001:2022 certificate is available in the MASV Trust Center; customers and partners can contact MASV to request the company’s full audit report. A full picture of MASV’s security and compliance posture can be found on the MASV security page.
