We realized a savings of approximately $6,000 from not sending an editor on location for this job, including hotel, rental car, rental gear, travel pay, per diem, and other costs. There was a much more ambitious version of this project that would have resulted in five-figure savings.
Not only did MASV work perfectly – it now empowers us to take on bigger challenges in the future knowing that we can likely do all of the post from afar.

What is the Senior Bowl Moving Theater?
The Panini Senior Bowl is an annual college football all-star game showcasing top senior NFL prospects, allowing them to perform for professional scouts, coaches, and teams before the NFL Draft.
The Senior Bowl Moving Theater is the world’s first completely customizable digital out-of-home (DOOH) pop-up – essentially, a two-storey, 20-foot-long shipping container wrapped in high-resolution screens. It was designed and built by C-Box Solutions, and features 500 square feet of wraparound digital video screen and audio. The first floor offers customizable fan engagement services like vending machines and even an electronic vehicle (EV) charging station. For Senior Bowl 2026, the tower was deployed right outside the event’s official hotel.
Who is PanCam Pictures?
PanCam Pictures produces documentary storytelling and is the brainchild of Paul Camarata, a 12-time Emmy winner and showrunner of NFL’s Hard Knocks, All or Nothing, and Netflix’s Quarterback. His 25-year filmmaking career includes creative and leadership positions at NFL Films, and he has created content for HBO, Showtime, ESPN, and other media companies.
Paul regularly works with freelance editor David Stiles, a fellow NFL Films veteran who regularly cuts high-profile sports documentary content such as All or Nothing, American Thunder: NASCAR to Le Mans, and The Great Brady Heist.
“I’ve used every iteration of editing technology there is,” Stiles explains. “I like to try out new technology, and try to break it.”
The Challenge: Same-Day Production of Event-Ready Media
PanCam Pictures had a simple goal: To record, edit, and display same-day content at the 2026 Senior Bowl (in Mobile, Alabama) on the Moving Theater’s large screens just outside the event hotel.
“We tried to be close to instant turnaround,” Stiles explains. “My goal was: I want a player walking back to the hotel after practice to see himself catching a pass on the way into the hotel.”
But to get footage from cameras and other sources in Mobile to the editor’s desk in Pennsylvania – and then back again – on the same day was a daunting task:
- The team considered shipping drives, but that would have slowed down the project and made same-day content turnaround impossible.
- Consumer-grade file-sharing tools had caused significant speed, reliability, and usability issues for the company on similar projects in the past.
“We needed a solution to quickly get our material back and forth in a clean, simple, easy way,” says Camarata.
The Solution: Automated Web Portals and an Accelerated Private Network
Stiles says he was just weeks away from getting on a plane to Mobile when he discovered MASV. After signing up for a free Starter account to test his team’s workflows, PanCam quickly grew confident that MASV was up to the job.
“It was a bit of a calculated dice roll” because the company hadn’t used MASV on a project before, Stiles explains. But the opportunity to save thousands of dollars by not having an editing team on-site proved irresistible.
And MASV passed the test with flying colors.
Speed, capacity, and relentless reliability
PanCam used MASV to move around 600GB of high-resolution footage during Senior Bowl week between Alabama and Pennsylvania. In most cases, edits needed to be turned around in a matter of hours (if not minutes).
That meant fast, reliable file transfer was non-negotiable – and Stiles says that MASV came through in the clutch.
“There were no half downloaded files that had stalled out,” Stiles says, adding that multi-gig transfers often fail when using other file sharing tools and that MASV preserved the folder structure of all uploads. MASV handles file packages of unlimited size.
“I checked with everybody who sent me footage, and at no point did anyone have any transfers fail. And I cannot report that with previous solutions we’ve used.”
Easy to use, branded web Portals
The company deployed five browser-based, drag-and-drop MASV Portals to receive content from videographers, sponsors, and other content sources. Once Portals were spun up, all Stiles needed to do was share a Portal link with partners and watch the content roll in.
Camarata says several things stood out about Portals:
- Custom branding: “To be able to send a Portal link that’s got our branding and colors, it just gives our partners and collaborators a sense of familiarity. It makes it more user friendly and recognizable.”
- Drag-and-drop simplicity: All partners needed to do was drop content from their devices into the Portal. “The links (sent out from Portals) were super simple, and so was the user interface. You’re literally just dragging and dropping.”
Stiles was able to keep content organized by tracking which media was uploaded via which Portal.
No-code automations to a local RAID
PanCam set up MASV Watch Folder automations configured to send any uploaded content via a Portal directly to the team’s OWC ThunderBay 8 RAID storage device.
“All five of those Watch Folders lived on that RAID,” he explains, “and I never even had to check in on it. Usually you’re like, ‘OK, is that file done yet?’ But by the time I had to look for stuff, it was already downloaded directly to that RAID. They were landing right where I was going to edit them.”
Stiles says setting up Watch Folder automations was simple and straightforward. “It’s the kind of thing where I would normally want a concentrated block of time to focus,” he explains, “but in this case, I didn’t even give it my full attention. There was no way I could mess it up.”
Accessible and friendly customer service
Camarata points out that MASV’s customer service team went above and beyond for PanCam Pictures during the project. When he had questions or concerns about the process or the product, he says the MASV team was always available and willing to help – something he values tremendously.
“That’s maybe as important, if not more important, than the technical experience,” Camarata explains. “That was a very memorable, sticky experience that I’ll take forward.”
The Result: Saving Thousands of Dollars With Fast, Reliable File Transfer
Camarata and Stiles say the company saved around $6,000 using MASV instead of sending an editor on-site to the Senior Bowl, adding that the number could have been much larger.
“There was a much more ambitious version of this project that could have had two to four additional people on the post team traveling to Mobile,” Stiles says. “That would have resulted in five-figure savings on this job.
“Not only did MASV work perfectly – it now empowers and emboldens us to take on bigger challenges in the future knowing that we can likely do all of the post from afar. The obvious benefits moving forward are less stress, less cost, and potentially more profit margin from the savings of such an easy-to-deploy solution. It truly was a massive success for us.”
Camarata agrees, adding that MASV helped solve most of the company’s file transfer challenges out of the box during a very intensive time window.
“Production is constant problem solving,” he says. “And when you find something that solves your problem cleanly and easily, then that’s a really, really valuable tool. I wouldn’t go shopping for any other transfer service again, because it worked as well as it possibly could have.”
