No More Data Silos

Say goodbye to data trapped on a hard drive: Connect data and people with no-code automations and storage integrations.

The Challenge:

I need to get geospatial data from point of capture to processing and storage, without delays or overburdening IT.

With the geospatial sector embracing AI and cloud-based processing at a swift pace, the need for speed has never been more critical.

  • 3D geospatial images can range from a few gigabytes to hundreds of terabytes.
  • Field data capture has traditionally relied on hard drive shipping, delaying turnaround times.
  • Internet data transfers have traditionally been difficult in remote locations with poor connectivity.
  • Geospatial professionals may lack the necessary expertise in cloud computing to efficiently transfer large datasets.
  • Data security concerns can be a barrier for those hesitant to migrate sensitive geospatial information to the cloud.

The Solution:

MASV dramatically simplifies geospatial data transfer, seamlessly handling even petabyte-scale datasets.

MASV bridges the gap between field data capture and cloud-based processing with a user-friendly file transfer platform.

  • Effortlessly ingest file packages of unlimited size, with no limitations on transfer volumes.
  • Streamline uploads from drones, sensors, and other sources directly to storage using a browser-based file uploader.
  • MASV Multiconnect channel bonding combines multiple internet connections for fast, reliable transfers from anywhere.
  • No-code integrations and a user-friendly browser interface facilitate easy uploads from edge locations.
  • MASV runs on encrypted AWS infrastructure, and is backed by ISO and Soc 2 data security protections

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is MASV ideal for geospatial data transfer?

MASV can send or receive any kind of data type from anywhere in the world, at the highest speeds and reliability. No file format limitations. MASV works well in a browser and with your existing technology tools, and can send and receive files at maximum speed using a browser or Desktop App for Windows, Mac, and Linux. That means a reduced IT burden on IT staff, while simple interface means it’s easy for anyone on your team to use.

How can I send files from remote locations using MASV?

MASV’s unique networking capabilities deliver files faster and more reliably than any other cloud or on-prem transfer service. MASV Multiconnect allows bonding multiple internet connections to send data faster and more reliably, even in remote locations with extremely limited connectivity. MASV uses as much of your bandwidth as you’ll give it: With your permission, MASV will consume more than 95% of a 10Gbps fibre line.

Can I try MASV for free?

MASV offers a free tier that provides 10GB/month at no cost, so you can test, adopt, and deploy simple or sophisticated data transfer workflows with no risk. You can sign up for MASV and start sending data for free right now. Need more free data transfer credits to test your workflows? Contact us and we’ll hook you up.

What other pricing does MASV offer?

There are a variety of MASV pricing tiers, from pay-as-you-go to subscription pricing. For those with project-based needs or a consistently high volume of data, there’s a mix of subscription, prepaid credits, and enterprise plans available.

Is MASV secure?

MASV is a secure-by-design managed file transfer service combining compliance and high performance in one user-friendly tool. MASV meets your team’s security and compliance needs, offering encryption of data in flight and at rest, as well as compliance with ISO27001, SOC2 and other data protection programs. For a detailed view our our security profile, visit our Trust Centre.

Can I integrate MASV into my internal workflows?

MASV offers a headless MASV agent, an open API, and complete documentation at developer.massive.io, allowing your development team to build high performance transfer capabilities into just about any webpage or software.

Why should I use MASV, when I already ship hard drives with no issues?

Shipping hard drives is cheaper only when you ignore business outcomes, and only calculate the cost of drives vs. cloud transfer. Geospatial data processes are now faster then ever and new AI services mean geospatial data processing can happen in near real-time. The chokepoint is becoming the time from sensor to storage. MASV’s simple browser- and desktop-based transfer service can send files directly from the field at orders of magnitude faster than shipping hard drives.

Can MASV transfer data from my drone?

Yes. MASV’s format agnostic approach to file transfer means we support files regardless of their format, or whichever make/model of drone you use. We recommend that drone- and sensor-oriented operators use the MASV Desktop App’s Watch Folders feature. A Watch Folder can be configured to automatically send files as soon as they are saved to the target folder, nearly in real-time. If you’ve been hired to do detailed earth monitoring in a dynamic environment, or you’re watching the progress of a project, MASV can be a key tool to report on latest conditions faster than any other means.

Can MASV be used to share files from ESRI ArcGIS geospatial software?

Yes. ArcGIS geospatial software, including ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, allows the creation and sharing of geospatial file types such as .mpk, .lpk, and .geodatabase. MASV makes sharing from geospatial information systems simple, with drag-and-drop transfer of any file (zipped or not) of any size. Subscriptions to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or other geospatial services may be required.

When should I use MASV instead of Google Drive or OneDrive/Sharepoint?

When sharing small geospatial files you may find it convenient to use Google Drive, OneDrive, or Sharepoint. But MASV is much better suited for use cases involving large files and datasets, multiple collaborators, or high-frequency and high-volume file transfers from remote locations.

MASV can share files of unlimited size and can be configured to deliver automatically into more cloud storage and on-prem storage such as Amazon S3, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Wasabi, and many more. MASV can also deliver into Google Drive and OneDrive. A complete set of how-to’s are available on MASV’s support site.

Can I use MASV to move layers of a GIS project without breaking them?

Yes. In GIS, it’s fairly common to move project data from one computer to another or onto a hard drive and then onto another computer. Doing so always risks breaking links unless all project files and data are kept together in the same directory. MASV transfers retain folder structures, with no limitation to the number (or size) of files or folders transferred. Simply drag and drop your project folders into the MASV transfer window and all layers will transfer intact.

Does MASV work with Microsoft 365?

Yes. Microsoft 365 is widely used across the geospatial and public sector ecosystems, and MASV delivers content into OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure storage via no-code integrations.

Does MASV work with network attached storage (NAS)?

Yes. MASV integrates with network attached storage to allow simple and powerful transfer workflows with your NAS. Here’s how to set up Synology NAS, for example, with MASV.

Does MASV support common geospatial file formats such as Shapefiles, GeoTIFFs, or KML?

MASV is file format agnostic, meaning the service will transfer any file format you choose to upload from virtually any geospatial solutions. MASV can include metadata as sidecar files, as well as any metadata uploaded within a project folder. Metadata can be captured during the upload process using custom upload forms, thus enabling collection of specific information such as project name, dates, uploader name, and data specifications. Users can also limit uploads to specific file types, if desired, using MASV Upload Rules

How reliable is MASV in terms of uptime and availability?

MASV guarantees that your package gets delivered on time. If your package isn’t delivered on time and it is MASV’s fault, we will refund you the amount of that transfer.

Will I get technical support when I need it?

While MASV is probably the easiest file transfer solution in existence to set up, configure, and use, we are also 100% committed to our customers. MASV offers email, phone and chat-based support plus a complete array of on-demand resources discoverable at MASV support.

Can MASV integrate with existing geospatial tools or software commonly used in the industry?

MASV supports the most widely used cloud and on-prem storage and asset management technologies, with new integrations being introduced on an ongoing basis. Discover MASV’s integration options here.
