Yes. ArcGIS geospatial software, including ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise, allows the creation and sharing of geospatial file types such as .mpk, .lpk, and .geodatabase. MASV makes sharing from geospatial information systems simple, with drag-and-drop transfer of any file (zipped or not) of any size. Subscriptions to ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or other geospatial services may be required.

When sharing small geospatial files you may find it convenient to use Google Drive, OneDrive, or Sharepoint. But MASV is much better suited for use cases involving large files and datasets, multiple collaborators, or high-frequency and high-volume file transfers from remote locations.

Yes. In GIS, it’s fairly common to move project data from one computer to another or onto a hard drive and then onto another computer. Doing so always risks breaking links unless all project files and data are kept together in the same directory. MASV transfers retain folder structures, with no limitation to the number (or size) of files or folders transferred. Simply drag and drop your project folders into the MASV transfer window and all layers will transfer intact.

MASV is file format agnostic, meaning the service will transfer any file format you choose to upload from virtually any geospatial solutions. MASV can include metadata as sidecar files, as well as any metadata uploaded within a project folder. Metadata can be captured during the upload process using custom upload forms, thus enabling collection of specific information such as project name, dates, uploader name, and data specifications. Users can also limit uploads to specific file types, if desired, using MASV Upload Rules.
